District Press Releases

FOR RELEASE ON JANUARY 16, 2018

BAUER BUILT MAKES SIGNFICANT COMMITMENT TO THE DURAND-ARKANSAW SCHOOL DISTRICT’S “OUTDOOR ATHLETIC COMPLEX DEVELOPMENT”

DURAND, Wis…Greg Doverspike, District Administrator of Durand-Arkansaw School District announces that Bauer Built, Inc., has made a significant commitment towards the “Outdoor Athletic Complex Development” for the District.

The commitment was in exchange for naming rights to the new Complex.   Effective upon completion of the Development, the name of the complex will change from Wayne Field to the “Bauer Built Sports Complex.”  However, appreciation and recognition to the Wayne family that generously donated the land to the District back in 1948 will continue at the Complex with the specific recognition yet to be finalized.

As previously announced the overall layout of the Development and amenities will improve the functionality of the site based on projected future development and restore the facility to what it once was.  The project includes a new turf football stadium and track including new areas for field events, a plaza entry, a main entry, an expanded parking lot and a bleacher addition.

Doverspike went on to say:  “The generous contribution by Bauer Built makes the possibility of this Development much more realistic.”  He went on to say:  “However, we have not reached our objective to raise the remaining project cost and we are still looking for additional contributions.

With community involvement and support, the District is confident that improving the facility would provide immense benefits for student participation in sport activities, physical education programs, youth programs, the student body and the community.  Recognition will be offered for several levels as part of a Recognition Wall to be included with the complex.  All contributions will be recognized in some capacity.  If you are interested in making a contribution towards the Development or have any questions please contact Greg Doverspike at (715) 672-8919.

 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Durand Arkansaw School District Announces the Initiation of a Fund Raiser for an Outdoor Athletic Complex Development

DURAND, WI…Greg Doverspike, District Administrator of Durand-Arkansaw School District announces the approval by the School Board to initiate a fundraiser for a Development to the Districts Outdoor Athletic Complex.  Doverspike commented: “The District is in need of a long-term outdoor athletic facility.  This complex has not undergone any major renovations in over 40-years.”

The overall layout of the Development and amenities will improve the functionality of the site based on projected future development and restore the facility to what it once was.  The project includes a new natural turf football stadium and track including new areas for field events, a plaza entry, an expanded parking lot and a bleacher addition.

Doverspike went on to say:  “The complex has been in need of repair for a long time, with the current condition of the track specifically we cannot host any meets including a conference, regional or sectional meet.”

The Development going forward is contingent upon at least 50% of the needed funds being raised by private donations.
